Our Collagen Collection

Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, making up around 30% of your total protein, and it forms the structural framework of your skin, bones, tendons, ligaments and cartilage. Your own production starts to slow from your mid twenties, which is why collagen supplements have become one of the most popular ways to top it up.

Our range gives you two options. If you want a neutral powder you can stir into coffee, a smoothie or just water, that is our Bovine Collagen Peptides Powder. If you would rather swallow a capsule and skip the mixing, that is our Marine Collagen Complex. Both won a 2024 Beauty Supplement Award.

What to look for in a collagen supplement

Collagen labels are not always easy to read, so these are the four things worth checking before you buy anything, ours included.

  • Hydrolysed peptides, not intact collagen. Hydrolysis breaks collagen into much smaller fragments that dissolve properly and are absorbed, rather than sitting in the gut. Every collagen product we make is hydrolysed.
  • Vitamin C somewhere in your routine. Vitamin C contributes to normal collagen formation for the normal function of your skin, bones and cartilage, and it is the only authorised claim in this category. Our Marine Collagen Complex includes it. If you take the powder, make sure you are getting vitamin C elsewhere.
  • A serving size you will actually stick to. A 500g tub giving 50 servings lasts around seven weeks at one scoop a day. Collagen works through consistency, so pick the format you will not abandon in a fortnight.
  • Where it was made and how it is tested. Collagen is an animal derived ingredient, so sourcing and testing matter. Ours is made in BRC accredited grade AA UK facilities to GMP standards, with heavy metal testing and double sealed packaging.

How long do collagen supplements take to work?

Give it eight to twelve weeks of daily use before you judge it. That is the window most clinical studies of collagen peptides use when measuring skin and joint outcomes, and it reflects how slowly connective tissue renews. Taking a scoop for ten days and giving up is the most common mistake, and it tells you nothing either way.

Take it whenever fits your routine. There is no evidence that timing matters, so morning coffee, evening tea or alongside your other supplements are all fine. Consistency is the part that counts.

Collagen supplement FAQs

What is the best collagen supplement? +

The best collagen supplement is the one you will take consistently in a form you can absorb. For the highest dose and lowest cost per gram, a hydrolysed bovine collagen peptides powder gives you Type I and Type III collagen with flexible serving sizes. For convenience and added skin nutrients, a marine collagen capsule delivering Type I collagen with vitamin C is easier to stick to.

Is collagen powder or collagen tablets better? +

Neither is inherently better. Powder lets you take a larger dose and costs less per gram, but you have to mix it. Tablets and capsules give you a fixed, convenient dose with no taste and no measuring, which suits travel and busy mornings. Absorption depends on the collagen being hydrolysed, not on whether it arrives as a powder or a capsule.

Do collagen supplements actually work? +

Hydrolysed collagen peptides are broken down and absorbed, and clinical research into skin and joint outcomes has generally measured effects over 8 to 12 weeks of daily use. Results vary between people. Collagen is a food supplement rather than a medicine, and no authorised health claims currently exist for collagen itself in Great Britain, so treat any brand promising a specific cosmetic outcome with caution.

How much collagen should you take a day? +

Follow the serving size on the pack. Our 500g bovine collagen powder provides 50 servings per tub, and the Marine Collagen Complex provides 1,000mg of hydrolysed marine collagen per daily dose. Taking more than the stated serving will not speed anything up.

Is collagen suitable for vegetarians and vegans? +

No. Collagen is an animal protein, so bovine collagen comes from cattle and marine collagen comes from fish. There is no true vegan collagen. Products marketed as vegan collagen are usually vitamin and amino acid blends intended to support your body's own collagen formation rather than supplying collagen itself.
