Take one capsule, three times a day before meals or as directed by your healthcare professional. This product may cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort. New users should take one capsule daily for a week to assess tolerance.
Start with one capsule a day. Don’t take it right before lunch, but about mid-morning once you feel your stomach emptying from breakfast but before you’re really hungry. You may find one capsule a day is enough, but if you still feel peckish between meals, you can go up to 2 and eventually 3 if you need to.
Berberine makes food stay in your stomach for longer, so it extends that time that you feel satisfied after a meal before you start to feel hungry again.
Don’t skip meals. Berberine can’t help you if you take it on a completely empty stomach.
Don’t expect berberine to make you lose weight by magic. You still have to diet and exercise! It just makes it easier to stick with it, by taking the edge off your appetite and supporting your energy and metabolism.
Warnings
If you’re prone to heartburn or acid reflux, go cautiously. Having food stay in your stomach for longer can worsen these conditions. These effects usually settle within 1–2 weeks of use. If symptoms persist or become severe, stop taking berberine and seek medical advice.
Berberine is not suitable for people with diabetes. Do not use it if you are taking any medication prescribed for diabetes or pre-diabetes.
Berberine is also not suitable if you are currently using any other weight management medications.
